The Town of East Hampton is a tourist town located at the east end of Long Island, NY. The town was interested in understanding the characteristics of its second home sector and its economic impacts. Second home refers to homes owned by non-residents. They typically purchased the homes as an investment and/or vacation homes. This part of the analysis estimated the assessed value and property tax contributions of second homes and displayed their spatial patterns.
